Latest news & events
The new Eurocodes Starter Pack of Scia Engineer is offered to cover the needs of civil engineers who want to model, analyse and design typical frame, truss and similar structures made of steel and concrete according to the Eurocodes.
Eurocodes in Scia Engineer
Scia Engineer Eurocode modules
The design according to Eurocodes in Scia Engineer extends through several program modules, with each of them dedicated to a particular Eurocode part.
Supported Eurocode parts
Scia Engineer enables the engineer to use a broad range of construction materials, checks and methods according to the different parts of the Eurocodes. Moreover, all this functionality is integrated into one software platform, which means that you can combine different materials and Eurocode checks in one project.
Supported National Annexes
The current version of Scia Engineer already contains a large amount of Eurocode methods and formulas. The next release, 2010.1, will thus mainly focus on the National Annexes.
Evaluation & Benchmarks
CTICM (French Steel Construction Institute), a major reference for steel construction in France and Europe, evaluated and certified our implementation of Eurocode 3 part 1-1 in Scia Engineer.
Eurocodes-Designed structures
In March 2009, an international jury comprising specialists from the academic and business world gathered to judge the projects of the sixth Nemetschek Engineering User Contest. All projects were evaluated in terms of originality, level of complexity, technical expertise and correct application of the software used. Some of the structures have been designed in line with the Eurocodes and are mentioned on this page.
Why Scia Engineer?
Scia Engineer is an ideal tool for calculations in any dimensionality, from a simple beam (1D), to a single plate (2D), to a whole building (3D), to a detailed analysis of distribution of internal forces over time in prestressed structures (4D).
