Eurocodes in ECtools
The 10 Eurocodes have become the design standards all over Europe for the structural and civil engineering world.
One of these standards is the Eurocode 8 for the design of structures for earthquake resistance. Buildings and other civil engineering works located in regions with high seismic hazard need to be checked in accordance with the provisions of this code.
With ECtools one is able to perform these checks according to EC2, EC6 & EC8 for R/C and Masonry buildings located in seismic regions. ECtools is developed by 3PI Penelis software ltd, which is a subsidiary of Penelis Consulting Engineers,
a structural design office with projects in many EU and Non-EU countries with high seismic risk.
The ECtools software code is a standalone post processor for Scia Engineer
which utilises the analysis capabilities of Scia Engineer in order to design R/C
and Masonry buildings according to Eurocodes EC2, EC6 and EC8.
