The new Eurocodes Starter Pack of Scia Engineer is offered to cover the needs of civil engineers who want to model, analyse and design typical frame, truss and similar structures made of steel and concrete according to the Eurocodes.
National Annexes
The National Annexes allow each member state to take into account its own local differences concerning geography, climate and traditional building practices. The safety level however remains the responsibility of the government of each member state and differs from state to state.
Whenever the EN Eurocodes are used for a structure, the National Annex of the state in which the structure is built has to be used.

The list of NDP (Nationally Determined Parameters) is available in the foreword to each EN Eurocode part:
National Annex for EN 1990
This standard gives alternative procedures, values and recommendations for classes with notes indicating where national choices may have to be made. Therefore the National Standard implementing EN 1990 should have a National Annex containing all Nationaly Determined Parameters to be used for design of buildings and civil engineering works to be constructed in the relevant country:
National choice is allowed in 1990 through:
- A1.1 (1)
- A1.2.1 (1)
- A1.2.2 (Table A1.1)
- A1.3.1 (1) (Tables A1.2(A) to (C))
- A1.3.1 (5)
- A1.3.2 (Table A1.3)
- A1.4.2 (2)
A National Annex does not authorise adaptation of the text of the EN Eurocode in any way, unless it is indicated by the NDP!
There is a total of 1,506 NDP in the 58 parts of the Eurocodes. The diagram below shows the segmentation of the NDP over various Eurocodes:
